Truckblog’s Top 10 Blogs Of 2007
2007 was an exciting year for us at Truckblog, filled with a bunch of technical articles and one of our own project trucks making it into SEMA. As a celebration of basking in all of the glory, we’ve collaborated a list of the top 10 blogs of 2007. Funny enough, most of them are our famous Beerblogs! Check them out inside.
Number 10: Spring Truck Jam Preview
What are you doing this Sunday, May 6th? If you’re in SoCal, you better be in Irvine, at the biggest, baddest truck show on the west coast! The Spring California Truck Jamboree kicks off the 2007 show season in a big way, with the west coast’s finest trucks and SUVs representin’. This is no sleeper show, either. For starters, there’s the burnout contest, the monster truck car crush courtesy of Shocker, an air hop contest featuring about a half a dozen trucks, and live music by Limelife.
Number 9: 2006 SEMA Show Video Wrap-Up
Umm, the dog ate our camcorder… or, my computer crashed. Tape got stuck in the rewinder? Ok, the sad truth is that we’ve just been pretty dog-gone busy, and even though we’ve already published 4 other SEMA 2006 videos, we still had one left. This one covers the show a bit more slowly than the first one, and has some rather silly (drunken) outtakes at the end if you wait around long enough! Enjoy…
Number 8: Friday Beerblog: Maryland Wants Your Balls
First they wanted your naked women, now they’re after your balls. Bull Ballz that is. In another example of too much time on their hands, Maryland Lawmakers are trying to ban all anatomically correct vehicle decorations. With the fake bull testicles that adorn many trailer hitches around rural America being mentioned specifically.
Number 7: Friday Beerblog: Hot Chick Mudflaps Legal, For Now
America, your lawmakers and legislators are hard at work keeping you and your family safe from dangerous things in society. In one recent example, the Arizona congress wasted about 500 man-hours of tax payer dollars to decide that for now at least the good truckers of the Grand Canyon State can still display naked woman silhouettes, and other pictures and phrases, on their mudflaps.
Number 6: Friday Beerblog: Horntones
In my day we called these a musical PA. This Beerblog is from the “Let’s reinvent the wheel department”. I would expect no less of an “invention” from a guy who thinks an H1 Hummer with Hulk Hogan airbrushed on the hood is the pinnacle of “cool”.
Number 5: Friday Beerblog: Pickup Hoops
This one definitely deserves some Beerblog status. I found (well Chris actually found it) the newest way to put a fat dent in your tailgate. Sick huh? It’s a product called Pickup Hoops that plugs right into your bed for the ultimate, jaw wrenching, edge of your seat basketball game of your life. As quoted from their website, “Pick-Up Hoops is perfect for “Ballers” on the Go!” So I guess we should start seeing these on the back of every Escalade or Yukon? It’s sure to help you win that 1st place trophy at the local show. Maybe you can make some money off of kids while you’re there? Charge a buck or two per game to help pay for that beer you’re going to need after purchasing this product.
I raise my beer high (yeah I can drink now) and give a toast, to the stupidest product we’ve seen in a while.
Number 4: Friday Beerblog: Antennae Pole Dancing
You’ve seen them all… the fuzzy steering wheel covers, obnoxious bumper stickers, bullet hole stickers, fake hands, and even truck nuts. PrankPlace Novelties has assembled all your favorites in one place and made them easy to find, including the latest antennae topper for your ride… strippers.
For around ten bucks you too can now have Jenna Jameson, Raven, Diamond, or Brittni doing the dance on your antennae. Being stuck in traffic just got a whole lot more entertaining.
Number 3: Friday Beerblog: SEMA 2006 Coverage Video
The other day we posted our first SEMA Show 2006 video for AMP Research and now we’ve finished our first video of the show itself. We’ve got more in the works, including extended SEMA Show 2006 coverage, but this is a great overview of what is there. Check it out!
Number 2: Friday Beerblog: Sunday…Sunday…Sunday!
If those words make you crane your neck, looking for a monster truck flying through the air and crushing cars, then you were definitely at the Tacoma Dome for the Monster Jam this past weekend. The trucks were jamming around corners and flying over cars on a pre-determined track layout for the Monster Truck races. And later they had 90 seconds of time for the Monster Truck freestyle, where the trucks had free reign to do make the trucks pirouette through the air with the utmost grace, defying gravity, and even landing on their roofs!
and the Number One blog of 2007 for Truckblog is…
Number 1: Friday Beerblog: Diesel Up Your Bees
“Diesel up your bees everybody. We’re gonna go ridin’!” While testing out the new TruckTube video library here at Truckblog I stumbled upon a video from the Great White North that is not to be missed. A bunch of Canadians take their 1992 Ford F-250 diesel 4×4 out mudding on the farm and turn it into a fish tank. The rusty old Ford survives, but just barely.
