The Detroit News announced this morning that Ford is recalling 1.2 million 1997 to 2003 F-Super Duty pickup trucks with the 7.3 liter diesel engine, due to a faulty engine sensor that can cause the diesel motor to suddenly stall.
The recall also includes E-series vans that are equipped with the 7.3 liter diesel engine. The announcement states that “the sensor can degrade over time and cause the vehicle engines to stop, which could lead to an accident. Ford said it had 14 reports of accidents or loss of control related to the faulty sensor.” If you are effected by this recall, Ford will contact you later this month and offer a free repair.
