The Fire Truck That Starts Fires
And we thought the Lightning, er, the Dodge SRT-10 was the fastest truck. Apparently, this jet-powered fire truck holds the Guinness World Record for the most powerful fire truck in the world.
The Hawaiian Fire Dept started with a 1940 Ford fire truck, gutted the back, and tossed in a couple of Rolls Royce 601 Viper engines complete with afterburners. Fueled by jet fuel, it packs 12,000 lbs of thrust. Built by Shannen Thomas Seydel, not Jesse James, this three-year project will achieve 407 MPH and does a 1/4 mile in 7 seconds at 200 MPH.
